The Road to the Cross (Part Four): Jesus Is Alive

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Sunday, April 5, 2026

Today’s Text: Luke 24:13–35; Matthew 28:5–10

Key Verse: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” — Matthew 28:6 (KJV)

Part four of “The Road to the Cross” is in fact the road from it. It moves us from the silence of the tomb to the shout of triumph: Jesus is alive! The message of resurrection is not just an event in history—it is the heartbeat of our faith and the anchor of our hope. The cross was the place of sacrifice, but the empty tomb is the place of victory. Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him, and despair could not silence Him. The same Jesus who suffered on Friday is the same Lord who stands in glory on Sunday morning.

When the angel said, “He is not here,” heaven was opening a new chapter for humanity. Everything changed in that moment—our sins were forgiven, our fears lost their power, and our future was secured in Christ’s triumph. The resurrection of Jesus proves that the power of God is greater than any power on earth. It affirms that pain has a purpose, that waiting has an ending, and that faith in Christ is never in vain. The living Christ now walks with us, speaks with us, and reveals Himself in the breaking of bread, just as He did with the disciples on the Emmaus road.

To walk the road from the cross is to move from mourning to mission. It is to carry the living presence of Jesus into the world, proclaiming that hope lives again. Because Jesus is alive, defeat is temporary, and joy is eternal. Every believer becomes a living witness of resurrection power—called to reflect the light of Him who conquered death forever.

Action Steps: Today, walk in the confidence of resurrection life. Let your praise testify that Christ lives in you. Speak faith where fear once ruled, and joy where sorrow once lingered. Encourage someone who feels defeated to look again—the tomb is empty! Let your heart burn with fresh fire from His presence, and your lips declare the good news: “The Lord is risen indeed!”

Quote for the Day: "Because Jesus is alive, every ending becomes a new beginning, every tomb turns into a testimony, and every believer walks in unshakable victory.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of the resurrection. Thank You for raising Jesus from the dead and giving us the assurance that life has conquered death. Fill my heart with the joy and strength of Your risen presence. Help me live today as a witness of Your victory and a bearer of Your hope. Let the reality of the empty tomb shape my thoughts, my words, and my walk. Because Jesus is alive, I will live with boldness, faith, and joy. In Jesus’s glorious name, Amen.
