Mid Year Revival Cry (Part 17): An Increase in Souls that are Saved

Today’s Text: Acts 2:36-47

Key Verses: Acts 2:47 (NLT): “All the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”

As we draw closer to the very middle of the year, our need for revival is becoming more urgent. We need new enthusiasm and power—new evidences and vibes. We need our passions revisited and revived. Millions of souls are waiting to be saved; and we need to reach them. Our national and even global cultures are sinking deeper and deeper in sensuality, and they need to be affected for God.

It is the responsibility of all believers in any generation to move their own age for God so that along with the new burden for souls we all must witness a marked increase in salvations and new converts at every opportunity. Two important elements in today’s key text are the verb “added” and the adverb “daily.” They imply a continually recurring act of additions of saved souls to the believing community. O how we need our attention redirected to this major culture shift of the Church!

We need a return of Peter’s kind of preaching that brought 3000 men to their knees on a single day. But how shall our messages affect the world if and when it has not first affected us?! When the Church presents Jesus Christ as both the Lord and the Christ (Savior), the living, ascended Christ to the world, He presents Himself in working reality with them, and this cannot but result in the drawing of many believing souls to Himself—just as He said: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us so that those who were at distance may be brought to love, trust and believe in You because of Your life through us. Please draw us unto Yourself again O Lord, and move us to seek You with our whole heart, embracing and preaching the gospel of grace again—in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
