Portrait of a Noble Woman

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Sunday, May 10, 2026

Today’s Text: Proverbs 31:10–31

Key Verse: Proverbs 31:25 (ESV) — “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”

A woman’s worth is not defined by culture, comparison, or circumstance—it is established by God. In a world that often measures value by outward appearance or temporary achievements, Scripture reveals a deeper, enduring standard. Proverbs 31 paints the portrait of a woman whose life is anchored in character, wisdom, and the fear of the Lord. Her worth is far above rubies—not because of perfection, but because of purpose and divine design.

The virtuous woman is not merely industrious; she is intentional. She nurtures, builds, provides, and leads with grace and strength. Her influence extends beyond her home into her community, and her legacy speaks through generations. Yet, at the core of her worth is not what she does, but who she is in God. “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Her reverence for God is the foundation that sustains every other aspect of her life.

On this Mother’s Day, we are reminded that the worth of a woman—especially a mother—is often revealed in quiet sacrifices, unseen prayers, and steadfast love. Her hands may be busy, but her heart is anchored in God. Her strength is not loud, yet it is unshakable. Even in seasons of exhaustion or obscurity, God sees, honors, and rewards her faithfulness.

To every woman, God’s call is not to imitation but to transformation. You are not called to measure up to others, but to walk fully in the grace God has given you. Your worth is not diminished by past mistakes or present struggles. In Christ, you are clothed with strength, dignity, and purpose.

The question remains: are you embracing your God-given worth? When you see yourself through His eyes, you rise above insecurity, limitation, and fear. A woman who knows her worth in God becomes a vessel of life, wisdom, and impact wherever she goes. Oh daughter of Zion, you are valuable, chosen, and deeply loved. Walk boldly in your identity, for your life carries eternal significance.

Action Steps: Take time today to thank God for the women who have impacted your life, especially mothers and spiritual mothers. Reflect on Proverbs 31 and identify one attribute you will intentionally cultivate. Speak affirmations over yourself or a woman in your life, declaring her worth according to God’s Word.

Quote for the Day: “The true worth of a woman is not measured by what she possesses, but by the God she reflects and the lives she enriches.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Lord, thank You for the gift and worth of every woman You have created. Today, we honor and celebrate mothers and all women who walk in strength, dignity, and faith. Help each woman to see herself through Your eyes—valuable, purposeful, and deeply loved. Strengthen weary hearts, reward hidden sacrifices, and let Your grace overflow in their lives. May they continue to reflect Your glory and impact generations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
