Pray Always and Don’t Lose Heart!

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, July 8, 2019

Our Text: Luke 18:1-8

Key Verse: Luke 18:1 (ESV): “And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

There are many temptations and reasons to faint in our prayers to God — the enemy may flag our sense of unworthiness before us; or we may faint when there’s no apparent or immediate answer; or we may be tempted to take matters into our own hands, thinking we are smart or strong enough for what we do or need. But our Lord laid us an example by leading a prayerful and prayer filled life. And He commands us to always pray and not faint.

Your faithful, caring and tender Father sees your importunate search for answers. He will come through for you. For if an unworthy man, an unrighteous judge will, for a poor reason, accede to the request of one for whom he has no care or stake, how much more certainly will your worthy Father, the Righteous One, your Maker, himself, for a good reason, espouse the cause of those who are so dear to Him! Thus, confidence in God's faithfulness and interposition, among others, is enough reason not to lose heart in the place of prayer.

Quote for the Day: “Importunity in prayer reminds us that delay is not denial. It inspires us not to take God’s silence as absence from us, or indifference to us, or unreadiness to help us.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our prayer answering Father. Please help me to patiently trust in You, and be certain that in Your own time and way, You defend, relieve, redeem and bless Your chosen people. Amen.

With all my love and prayer,
