Restoration

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Saturday, May 2, 2026

Today’s Text: Joel 2:25–27

Key Verse: Joel 2:25 (ESV) — “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten...”

God is a Restorer, and His restoring grace reaches into the ruins of what was lost, broken, wasted, or delayed. Scripture presents restoration as God’s work of bringing His people back from loss into wholeness, and even turning devastation into testimony.

In today’s text, the Lord speaks directly to wasted years, not merely wasted moments. He does not just mend what is damaged; He repays what was devoured, proving that His redemption is bigger than our regret. The story of restoration in the Bible is not only about recovery, but about renewed relationsha,ip, renewed purpose, and renewed fruitfulness in the presence of God.

Restoration often begins where human strength has ended. When we have exhausted our own fixes, God steps in to rebuild, heal, and reestablish what loss had seemingly erased. Sometimes restoration comes through forgiveness, sometimes through healing, sometimes through correction, and sometimes through a new season that carries forward what the old season could not complete.

Child of God, do not measure your future by what the locusts consumed. The Lord who restores is able to recover your joy, renew your calling, and revive what looked permanently gone. What He restores may not always return in the same form, but it will carry His grace, His wisdom, and His glory.

Action Steps: Bring one area of loss before the Lord today and name it honestly in prayer. Ask Him to restore not only what was taken, but also the strength, wisdom, and faith needed for the next season. Take one practical step that aligns with healing, obedience, or reconciliation.

Quote for the Day: “Restoration is God taking what was broken, wasted, or delayed and making it useful again for His glory.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Lord, You are the God of restoration. I bring You every place of loss, pain, delay, and brokenness in my life. Restore the years, restore the joy, restore the peace, restore the purpose, and restore the fruitfulness that only You can give. Heal what has been wounded, redeem what has been wasted, and make my life a testimony of Your mercy and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
