Restoring Faulty Foundations (Part Two)

Our Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Key Verses: 1 Chronicles 4:10 (GNT): “But Jabez prayed to the God of Israel, "Bless me, God, and give me much land. Be with me and keep me from anything evil that might cause me pain." And God gave him what he prayed for.”

Today’s devotional focus are faulty biological foundations. The problem of wrong and evil foundation have so much effects in people’s lives. It ravages individuals and homes. And unfortunately, it may not have been adequately treated in our time. When something is not feeling right, it is important you understand how to determine the source and correct whatever is wrong. Just like a person’s biological foundation can affect his genes, health, life expectancy, child bearing and certain associated child bearing issues; it also has some deep rooted spiritual issues associated with his root.

Our text this morning needs no deep search before one can see why Jabez’s life was initially filled with griefs and dishonor. His mother gave birth to him in pain, and for that reason tampered with his life foundation by pronouncing a curse on him at birth. Nobody can be free from bloodline curse(s) except s/he calls on the God of Israel. That was Jabez’s secret of freedom from his own faulty biological foundation. That secret is still working today. It can work for you too. The God that answered the prayer of Jabez and gave him what he asked can visit the very foundation of your life too, and get it all fixed if you trust Him, and call upon Him.
