Psalm 100:1–5 (ESV)
Key Verse: Psalm 100:4 (ESV) — “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”
During thus very spectacular season, God has constantly brought very sumptuous daily ration of grace to prepare us for the new year. Yesterday was about crossing into promise; and today, He wants to show us how to step into praise. In this final hours of the old year, He invites us to finish not with anxiety, but adoration. Before you cross into the new, pause to bless the Lord who carried you through past old years. Every ending becomes holy and the proceding new beginnings even holier when it’s wrapped in gratitude and worship. Gratitude sanctifies transition. It reminds you that the God who was faithful through every storm of the past will be faithful again in every sunrise.
Please learn this and make it your life vest. Praise, in your life, must never be a reaction; it must always proceed from a revelation. It reveals that you have seen the hand of God — even when life looked uncertain. Praise transforms reflection into renewal and endings into new beginnings. As Israel crossed the sea, Miriam lifted her tambourine; as Paul faced new cities, he sang from prison walls. As David approached Zion, his only attitude was to shed all dissatisfaction, disappointment and unfulfilled dreams and enter with thanks. Praise is always the right response because the presence of God never expires at the turning of a calendar.
Step into the new with praise that remembers. Remember not the pain of the path but the hand that held you along the way. Count every mercy, name every miracle, and recall every time He made a way where none existed. Behind every trial was triumph; behind every delay, divine design. Praise brings perspective. You survived because grace sustained you. Step into the new with praise that expects. Thanksgiving looks back, but praise leans forward. When you lift your voice now, you are not only thanking Him for what He has done but declaring what He will do. The atmosphere you create in praise becomes the climate of your next year. Enter tomorrow with a melody of trust, not a memory of trouble. Let your hallelujah be louder than your hesitation.
Step into the new with praise that yields. Worship is surrender — a sweet yes to the will of God. As you close this year, release your plans, control, and timelines. Yield them before His throne and say, “Lord, write Your story for the new year as You please.” When worship precedes your steps, wonders follow your seasons. The gates of 2026 will open to the sound of a grateful heart. To step into the new with praise is to move in rhythm with heaven. This is not just a night of celebration; it’s a moment of consecration. The world counts down in noise; the believer enters in worship. As the clock resets, your spirit rejoices: the same God who began this journey will crown it with glory. Step into the new — singing.
Action Steps: Tonight, create your altar of thanksgiving. Take five minutes to write and speak words of praise for God’s goodness through the tears, and especially for 2025. Then, declare three praises in advance for what you believe He will do in 2026. Close the year in worship, not worry.
Quote for the Day: “New seasons don’t start with calendars—they start with praise.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for being my keeper and guide through this year. As I step into the new, fill my heart with praise instead of fear. Let gratitude unlock the gate and worship prepare the way. I celebrate Your faithfulness and anticipate Your wonders. Crown this year’s ending with peace and the new one with purpose. In Your glorious name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
