Crossing Into Promise

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Tuesday, December 30, 2025

Deuteronomy 31:1–8 (ESV)

Key Verse: Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV) — “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Yesterday, we talked about finishing strong and beginning fresh. Today, we are much closer to the edge of crossing — that holy moment between what was and what will be. As Israel stood before the Jordan once again, a generation prepared not just to move from somewhere, but to move into something. Every promise of God demands a crossing — a shift from wandering into walking, from hearing into entering, and from believing into becoming. Tomorrow is not a reset button; it’s an invitation to enter destiny. To step into promise, you must trust the God who has already gone before you.

Crossing into promise requires courage. God told Joshua, “Be strong and courageous,” not because the way was easy, but because it was assured. Courage does not come from certainty about the path but from confidence in God's presence. The same God who went with you through the wilderness will lead you into your inheritance. The unknown before you is familiar to Him. Every Jordan standing between you and your next chapter will yield to His word when you step forward in obedience.

Crossing into promise requires consecration. Before the Israelites marched, they sanctified themselves again. A holy God leads prepared people into holy ground. Why is consecration necessary? It is because we cannot enter tomorrow with yesterday’s dust. We must lay aside the weight of worry, the residue of regret, the fear of failure, and the disobedience of God’s precepts. The crossing requires clean hearts and willing hands. It is with purity that we are positioned for possession.

Crossing into promise requires confidence in the Lord that goes before you. Notice what Moses did not say: He did not say that God goes behind you, or beside you. Yes, those positions are also assumed and assured but God goes ahead of us to occupy our tomorrow before we arrive there. Where human plans falter, divine preparation prevails. The year ahead is not a mystery to Him; it is a masterpiece already designed. When you walk with the One who holds the blueprint, you cross not in fear, but in faith.

As we near the year’s end, let heaven hear your resolve: “I’m crossing into promise.” Like the Israelites, you’ve been through the fire of preparation and perseverance. You've afflicted your body through fasting and prayers these 60 days: and now comes possession. And what that next season is demanding is faith, focus, and following-through. So make sure you don’t drag yesterday’s wilderness into tomorrow’s wonder. The promise awaits those who cross believing.

Action Steps: Today, declare your crossing. Identify one promise of God you are stepping into this coming year — a new season, call, or commitment. Release hesitation, embrace hope, and consecrate your heart through prayer. Speak these words aloud: “The Lord goes before me. I cross over into His promise with courage and confidence.”

Quote for the Day: “Your Jordan may look deep, but God’s promise runs deeper.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing me this far and for the promise that lies ahead. As I stand on the threshold of a new year, lead me with bold faith and clean hands. Go before me into every door, decision, and destiny. Remove fear, renew confidence, and release grace for the crossing. May this new season reveal the fullness of Your promises over my life. In Your faithful name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
