The King of Glory

Today's Text: Psalm 24:7-10

Key Verse: Psalm 24:10 (NIV): "Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty — he is the King of glory."

The world has seen mighty monarchs in different kingdoms, realms and dominions; but not a single one of them compares the kind of magesty, and glory which the God of Heaven and earth who created all powers and realms reserves. He alone commands eternal glory, and so He alone deserves true respect and allegiance. He alone is the King of Glory. He alone reigns supreme over all creation. Recognizing Him as the King of Glory must surpass an intellectual assent. It must be a profound acknowledgment of His sovereignty, power, and majesty. It involves understanding His rightful place as the ultimate authority and source of all good. We must acknowledge Him by submitting to His will, praising His name, and living lives that honor Him.

Jesus, through His life, death, and resurrection, perfectly revealed the King of Glory to us. He demonstrated divine power over sickness, nature, and even death, and ultimately triumphed over sin and evil, establishing His eternal kingdom. All who truly believe in Him must honor and worship Him as the King of Glory. It is by so doing that we truly experience His transformative presence in our lives. Unfortunately, self-reliance, worldly distractions, and a lack of spiritual discipline often hinder our generation from fully embracing this truth. Recognizing the King of Glory requires humility and a willingness to bow before His authority. It requires striving to live in accordance with His divine purposes, just as He taught us. If and when more Christians acknowledge and submit to the King of Glory, we shall begin to have a more profound impact on the world, reflecting His light and truth.

Action Steps: Take time today to meditate on the majesty and power of God as the King of Glory. Reflect on areas in your life where you need to surrender more fully to His reign. Express your worship and praise to Him through prayer, song, and meditation. Share with someone today about the glorious nature of God and what He has done in your life.

Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being the King of Glory, mighty and majestic. Help me to truly recognize and submit to Your reign in every area of my life. Grant me the humility to worship You and the willingness to live for Your glory— in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
