Today’s Text: John 20:24-29

Key Verse: John 20:29 (NIV): "Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Good morning friends, it gives me immense pleasure to share my morning meditation on trust with y'all. Trust is the confident expectation that someone or something will act in a way that is beneficial or harmonious with one's goals or values. It involves believing in the reliability, honesty, and good intentions of others or oneself. Above all, trust is spiritual: it is total dependence on God's promises, power, presence and person. Trust between humans can develop over time through consistent behavior, shared experiences, and open communication. However, trust can also be broken when expectations are violated or betrayed.

Once broken, rebuilding trust requires effort, forgiveness, and a willingness to risk vulnerability again. Trust is not always easy to establish or maintain, but it is essential for building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and creating a sense of safety and security in various aspects of life.

As we begin this new day, let us take a deep breath and focus our attention inward. Invite your mind to settle and your heart to open as you reflect on whatever happens to trust in your life — trust in self, trust in others, trust in the universe, and most importantly, trust in God.

With today's text, lack of trust in the life of Thomas has nothing to do with the character of Christ, but Thomas's personal issues. Let us, therefore, reflect on and acknowledge the times we've felt uncertain or doubtful and recall moments when trust was broken. And, lastly, remember moments when trust was restored, and faith was renewed, or what we need for it to happen.

At the end of my time of prayer this morning, I remind myself that trust is a muscle to be exercised, not a static state. It requires vulnerability, courage, and practice. As I move into this day, I choose to cultivate trust — to believe in my own resilience, to have faith in the goodness of others, and to surrender to the sovereignty of God.

Quote for the Day: “Trust is like a vase, it can be broken and glued back together, but the cracks will always show. It's a fragile thing, but when handled with care, it can be a beautiful and strong foundation for relationships." (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I trust you this morning for more grace until my heart remain open and my spirit stay receptive to the guidance and support that surrounds me. May trust be my foundation and my anvhor of faith in you, illuminating my path and leading me toward wisdom, compassion, and grace — in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
