Waxing Stronger in Generosity
Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Saturday, January 24, 2026
Texts 2 Corinthians 9:6-11
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV) — “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
We are blessed to begin our day with a text of scripture that speaks of generosity. No cheerful giver lives a scarcity thinking life. They live in kingdom economics where giving multiplies. In a year of waxing very strong, when generosity expands influence, the one sure thing that will cap our capacity is selfishness. To wax stronger in generosity is to improve your desire and act of first and best giving to God's work and people. Generosity is the mindset of those who trust that God's supply never runs dry; it is the recognition that the one who owns all things delights in blessing those who release what’s in their hands. The more you give, the more you align with the divine flow of abundance that cannot be exhausted.
God sows extravagantly so you harvest abundantly. Cheerful givers trigger supernatural supply chains. Waxing stronger in generosity this year means breaking the grip of hoarding and stepping into divine circulation. I am a living proof that when you give with joy, you activate unseen systems of provision, shifting your life from natural results to supernatural outcomes. Every act of generosity becomes a seed planted in God’s economy—one that never fails to yield a harvest in due season.
True generosity flows from understanding God's heart. To wax stronger in generosity is to make giving your lifestyle, not just occasional duty. There are breakthroughs tied to your willingness to release. This year, your open hand will experience God's open heaven. When you allow His compassion to move through you, your giving becomes a reflection of divine love. True givers understand that what they release never leaves their life—it only changes form and multiplies back in favor, joy, and overflowing grace.
When culture preaches "get all you can," let generosity preach "give all you can." Waxing stronger in generosity marks you as God's distribution channel. Your liberality will create ripple effects of blessing. Each gift you release carries the fragrance of heaven, influencing lives and communities far beyond what you can see. As you live to give, you become a vessel of divine increase—proof that in God’s kingdom, the generous never run empty, and every seed sown returns with abundance.
Living generously is a personal decision that flows from the heart, not from pressure or obligation. It is "each one must give as he has decided in his heart" according to our text. While it is not about the amount, but the attitude behind it, our giving must always reflect trust, gratitude, and love for God. When we choose to give cheerfully, we invite the smile of Heaven and align ourselves with God’s generous nature.
A heart that gives freely demonstrates faith in God’s provision and becomes a magnet for His love and blessing. Living generously is both an act of obedience as well as a joyful participation in God’s abundant grace. It is a personal choice that draws each giver closer to the heart God, the Supreme Giver, and opens us to a world of limitless divine favor.
Action Steps: Today, identify 3 needs around you. Meet one need secretly, one publicly, one extravagantly. Set a weekly "generosity goal" for 2026. Watch God replenish you beyond measure.
Quote for the Day: "Generosity breaks poverty cycles. A heart controlled by possession producess hands of recession. It is as we wax stronger in cheerful giving that God makes all grace abound toward us." — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, make me a cheerful, extravagant giver like You. Break every spirit of selfishness from my heart. Teach me Your economics of multiplication. Let my generosity draw others to Your kingdom. In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
