Daily Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, January 21, 2026
Texts: Joshua 1:1-9
Key Verse: Joshua 1:9 (ESV) — “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Courage is not the absence of fear but strength to advance against it. In a year of waxing very strong, timidity forfeits inheritance while courage claims territory. To wax stronger in courage is to move forward when God has spoken, regardless of visible odds.
Courage obeys God's voice above human counsel. The same God who was with Moses is with you now. Waxing stronger in courage this year means rejecting fear's false report and embracing God's guaranteed presence. Every giant was once a promise waiting for courageous faith.
True courage grows when you remember God's past faithfulness. To wax stronger in courage is to speak to your mountains instead of running from them. There are battles designed for your testimony, victories reserved for the bold. This year, courage will unlock doors fear kept shut.
When intimidation rises and doubters discourage, let God's command echo: "Fear not!" Waxing stronger in courage positions you as leader, pioneer, and history-maker in your generation. Your bravery will birth legacies for generations.
Action Steps: Today, identify your biggest "giant" this year. Write Joshua 1:9 on a card. Carry it everywhere and declare it before every fearful decision. Watch courage become your new normal.
Quote for the Day: "Courage advances when fear retreats. As you wax stronger in boldness, God will fight your battles and give you the land." — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, flood me with supernatural courage today. Burn away every spirit of fear and timidity. Make me strong and very courageous to possess every inheritance You have promised. Let my life inspire bravery in others. In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
