Daily Scripture Threshing for Friday, July 2, 2021
Today’s Text: Psalm 46:1-11
Key Verses: Psalm 46:1(NLT) “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”
This young and new month of July started already on a julious note. We can be confident that the hand of the Lord will also wondrously take us to its end on a note of joy. God hath manifested himself to be sure and reliable in the course of His providence in time past. He promises to do the same till eternity comes. And He never fails to fulfil His promises. So, not that earth naturally woes and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places will not rare their ugly heads; not that evil men shall not throw their fiery darts; and of course, not that waters shall not foam and roars; but we can be glad and joyful in the midst of these things. Why is that? As people of God, we are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from victory.
Though we are always in danger from visible or invisible enemies, our sure hiding, to whom we may flee, hide and be safe, is God. This new month: we have works to do, warfares to tackle, mountains to surmount, and hardships to endure; but we also have God to trust. His mighty hands shall unfailingly hold us up over floods and deep waters. We will not fear because our help is not from without. It is from God, who lives within us. The same shall help us, and do it right early. The idea of “in the morning” refers to how God rises to our occasions in their very wake. People of God, as we traverse this new month, let us be confident in the nearness of God and His power to help us. As a matter of fact, God is not just near us, but He is with us. His name is Immanuel. Therefore, we will not fear.

Prayer: O Lord, I thank you because I you alone do I find refuge. Only to you I can turn in difficult times, Help me to always trust in your safe hiding place, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
