Today’s Text: 1 Timothy 4:11-16
Key Verse: 1 Timothy 4:13 (KJV): “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”

Reading, exhortation and doctrine are foundational and fundamental to the Christian faith. They guided the paths of The Early Church. They shape the history and heritage of the gospel spread and growth. They help us to be genuine example of the believer in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. That is why Apostle Paul urged his spiritual son, Timothy, to do all diligence to the faithful exercise of these basic things. And the emphasis must be put in mind — “till I come!” This indicates consistency, persistence or continuity.
This admonition is even more needed by end time believers. They need more careful and deliberate attention on divine instruction to survive the last days — more than in the ages of Patriarchs, priests, prophets and the apostles. We must let the word of God remain the Church’s sure source of knowledge and strength. We must realize that except we continue in it, our journey to the glorious Celestial City will be in jeopardy. But continuing in the ministry of the word makes us wise toward God during this age held swayed by all manners of evil devices.
God’s word is our true test of character. It is the standard of all practice and doctrines. We must continue to pay attention to the word of God. It is the yardstick by which values and virtues are tried and shaped. Prayer is powerful; but the word of God remains the inspiration for our power and victory. The more we pay attention to the word of God, the more God’s truth sanctifies our hearts.
Quote for the Day: “The word of God is the reservoir of all graces, power and light. It never goes wrong — it never can, and never will." (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please teach me to discern Your word. Let it (Your word) direct me on the path of righteousness. Help me to crave Your truth and continue in it to the very end, in Jesus' name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
