Today’s Text: Zechariah 4:1-14
Key Verses: Zechariah 4:10 (NLT) — “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel's hand." (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the LORD that search all around the world.)”

Great and small, or rich and poor people all have something in common: everyone has his own days of humble beginning. There is no one not given a platform in which to start. That's why every child starts out on the floor. This calls us to give ears unto wisdom: all the world's affluent and powerful people crawled helplessly as did the child of the world's poorest. God wants us to take a cue from this wisdom today as we meditate on his revelation to Zerubbabel. We must never despair in or despise our own moments when things are starting out; even if they looked so unlikely or unbecoming. Great things start out small and small things carry with them potentially great promises.
This scripture has been a watchword among countless generations of Christians. It first came to Zechariah when Joshua was priest and his colleague Zerubbabel was the representative of civil power. The trio have a promise that though things seemed not promising at the time of vision, yet the plan to rebuild the Temple shall still be a success. What in your life makes your own assignment look derided; as long as it is God’s work; be spirited about it, and be sure it is right and good. Throw yourself into it with all your heart. Success is imminent. The thrust of this message is patience in labor because whatever is of God cannot, and shall not fail. God's promises for your life and for that small assignment are true. They shall find their own fulfilment in due course. Therefore, though the present outlook of things speak of great difficulties, each of those difficult moment is a test to prove what spirit you are of. Your days of small things are days when God separates the chaff from the wheat; and the men from the boys. Remember the days when Napoleon Army would cross the Alps into Italy, and Marescot, Napoleon's chief engineer told him it Is possible but with difficulty. “Let us, then, set out," was the order of the great captain.
Quote for the Day: ”Your small winds are the real wins that get you ready for the big wins in life.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your word, and thank you for the promise. You are faithful in all of Your ways, and I believe in Your glorious promises, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
