Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, February 6, 2021
Today’s Text: Psalm 16:1-11
Key Verses: Psalm 16:8-9 (ESV) — “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.”

We started looking at David's source of genuine joy yesterday. And I bet the same secret gives easy explanation to why a person like him could be trusted for resilience, perseverance and tenacity.. These are the words we think about when seeking to describe the quality
of/for inner-strength. What is inner strength to you? Is it just been able to feel strong? Is it some sort of energy gathered from food or physical exercise? I tell you; no, inner strength is the power for exploit which God endued you with to help you deal with diverse difficult situations. A person may feel agile to carry logs, run all kinds of businesses and in the face of small inner crackles shake off and die out.
For David, God is trusted as the source of all good things. God is understood not as an abstraction; but a personal friend, a real Person, living and walking at our side, and able to protect us from danger. This awareness and confidence is a sure source of strength and courage. It gives such inner sturdiness that let come what may, we shall not be moved. If only you too can build such a sense of companionship with God; you too, in whatever may be your case, can confidently say: I shall not be moved. You can have the strength needed to overcome life’s challenges whatever they are -- domestic, private, public or social. You can have needed inner strength of character that takes the form of compassion when dealing with an incorrigible child; it can take the form of unbelievably kind words needed in response to a difficult spouse or partner; or even the unusual silence in the face of disrespect or injustice. You can have needed inner strength of purpose; and yes, indeed, you can have strength for all situations through Jesus Christ that gives us strength.
Quote for the Day: ”Inner strength has no business with shapes, sizes or possession; but it is simply God-given quality of quiet inner-fortitude to calmly deal with whatever comes our way.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please give me the strength to understand and endure each situation. Help me to find the blessings and lessons in each of them, in Jesus name. Amen.
I wish you a fabulous Saturday with all my love and prayers,
