Today's Text: Ecclesiastes 9:7-10
Key Verse: Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV): "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest."

Have you seen just how a diligent craftsman applies himself fully to the task at hand. He stops at nothing and disregard hardship to bring food to his household. Like him, we all are we called to embrace whatever work or opportunity presents itself. We don't always find ourselves doing what we dreamt of or desired, but that's no excuse for laziness or indolence. This verse isn't a permission slip for unfulfilled dreams; rather, it's a powerful encouragement to make the absolute most of our abilities and present opportunities. When you find something you can do, and have the chance to do it, you should do it with diligence and vigor as if your whole life depends upon it.
This wisdom shrouds a most profound word of caution here so that we are reminded of life's fleeting nature. We don't have all the time and the grave offers no chance for work, or planning, knowledge, or wisdom. Therefore, while we have breath and ability, we are to pour our energy into whatever our hands find. This isn't about grand achievements alone. Those are awesome, but don’t wait til you make a fame. You need all the faithfulness and earnestness to approach each day and every task, big or small. It means doing our best, not just when it aligns with our ultimate aspirations, but in every moment. And, we must understand this key fact because our present actions shape our future and impact those around us.
Action Steps: Embrace the present. Identify a task or responsibility before you right now, even if it feels mundane, and commit to doing it with your full attention and effort. Reject procrastination. When an opportunity to act arises, resist the urge to delay or make excuses. Seize the moment and apply yourself. Cultivate diligence whether it's your job, a personal project, or helping someone, strive for excellence and gun for urgency because of the temporary nature of life.
Quote for the Day: "The hands of the diligent heart always finds whatever they seeks because their heart is diligent and does with its might whatever it finds." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life and the abilities You have given me. Help me to live with intentionality and diligence. Help.me to embrace every opportunity to work and serve. Guard my heart against laziness and pride, and empower me to do "whatsoever my hand findeth to do" with all my might, knowing that my time here is precious — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
