Today’s Text: Psalm 66:5-12

Key Verse: Psalm 66:12 (KJV): “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

I testify that God truly takes His men by the hands and walks them through deep waters and fiery flames. Nothing could be truer than the testimony of today’s text. Today, Wednesday, July 27, 2022, makes it exactly 8 years since I arrived in the United States of America as a student with a Two Year F-1 Visa (Academic Student). I landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport via London, Heathrow (LHR), United Kingdom (BA 1530 Terminal D) by 12:45 pm CST with 2 bags and $45. I can look back through the journey before and during these 8 years and find nothing amiss in this testimony. Even when we think God has abandoned us — or, we feel, like this Psalmist, that He (God) is the actor, author, or the cause or permitter of our predicaments.

I don’t know where you are in your own journey of faith. I don’t know what you are believing God for. All I can say, today, is: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:2). Today’s text is a reminder that God allows different things in our lives to shape and mold us. When the Chaldeans attacked and hijacked Job's wealth to enrich themselves; and the devil afflicted his body; his friends also, who were supposed to be his consolation rejected, despised, and tortured him with words; but in the end, it was clear that God was only trying his patience. Your life may have been as though it were a dangerous passage through fire and water, but hold unto God, the storms will soon be over. And, of course, your testimony shall soon be "Thou broughtest us out!” Because God brings His men out. And when He does, He is bringing you out to a place of wealthy abundance.

Quote for the Day: “Let God’s word bring you out of that deep dejection. Desolation is never your destination. As a believer in Christ, you are on a journey of unfailing consolation.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer:  Dear Lord, please give me rest on every side, let my past sorrows turn to joy and mourning unto feasting. Though my ancestors fought battles on every side, my God shall give me rest on every side — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
