Our Text: 2 Corinthians 6:11-18
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV): "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

In Deuteronomy 22:10 and Ezra 9:2 are solemn Old Testament warnings not to allow unequal yokes. There is no way to balance the affinity of light with darkness. It's like plowing with an ox and a donkey yoked together. Indeed, it's a corruption of the holy seed. Or have you ever seen an ox and an ass drawing the same plough before? You can try it, but it's going to be so odd and unequal. That's why God wants us to give careful thoughts to our relationships.
To help us understand the extent and seriousness of needless intimacy with ungodly elements, the apostle asks five questions in which the first three contain his argument, and the two latter his conclusion. Think about them: 1.) For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? 2.) What communion has light with darkness? 3.) What concord has Christ with Belial? 4.) What part has he that believes in Christ with an infidel? And. 5.) What agreement has the temple of God with idols?
Quote for the Day: “Today's church possibly gropes under the fatal effects of neglecting this Scripture precepts by different forms of alliance with men destitute of truth.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be different. Help me to be salt to this tasteless earth, and light to the darkened world, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
