Romans 4:18–21 (ESV)
Key Verse: Romans 4:20 (ESV) — “No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God.”
Faith is the hand that holds on to God when everything else is shaking. Abraham’s journey shows that waxing stronger in faith does not mean a life without questions; it means a heart that refuses to let go of God’s promise. Faith is not denial of reality; it is confidence in a superior reality — the faithfulness of God who cannot lie. In this year of waxing very strong, heaven is calling you to move from fragile believing to fortified believing, from occasional trust to settled trust.
Abraham did not grow strong in faith by staring at his limitations; he grew strong by staring at God’s promise. The more he glorified God, the more his faith gained strength. As you magnify God above your circumstances, your spirit will find fresh courage to stand, wait, and obey. Waxing stronger in faith means training your heart to treat God’s Word as more solid than your feelings, facts, or fears.
This year, you are called to a faith that does not stagger at the promise of God through unbelief. Delays will come, contradictions will appear, and the enemy will whisper doubts, but you are not called to negotiate the promise — you are called to believe it. Strong faith is not loud emotion; it is quiet conviction anchored in who God is and what He has spoken. As you keep giving glory to God, your faith will gain weight and stamina.
Be ready to feed your faith consistently. Faith grows where the Word is honored, heard, and obeyed. To wax stronger in faith, you cannot live on yesterday’s revelation; you must sit daily at the table of Scripture, letting God’s voice drown every other voice. The more you meditate on His promises, the more your heart will learn to rest in His character.
Be ready to fight the good fight of faith. Strong faith does not avoid battles; it overcomes them. There will be moments when everything in you wants to retreat, but faith calls you to keep standing on God’s promise until manifestation arrives. Every time you choose trust over panic, obedience over compromise, and praise over complaining, your faith muscles are being trained to carry heavier assignments.
Be ready to align your confession with your conviction. Abraham’s faith was not silent; it showed in how he related to God and to the promise. Waxing stronger in faith means refusing to speak defeat while believing for victory. Your words should echo God’s Word, not your worries. Confession does not create truth, but it aligns you with the truth that God has already spoken.
Action Steps: Today, pause and ask: “Lord, where have I allowed unbelief to weaken my faith?” Write down the promises you are standing on this year. Find at least three Scriptures that speak directly to your current battles and begin to declare them in prayer daily. Choose one specific area (health, family, ministry, or finances) where you will intentionally respond in faith rather than fear.
Quote for the Day: “Faith does not grow by watching the storm; it grows by watching the Savior. Fix your heart on His promise, and your faith will wax strong.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for every promise You have spoken over my life. Deliver me from unbelief and double-mindedness. Teach me to stand firm on Your Word until my experience aligns with Your promise. Strengthen my heart to keep trusting, keep obeying, and keep praising even when I do not yet see the results. Let my faith this year bring glory to Your name and reveal the greatness of Your faithfulness. In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
